It be hard to believe, but when selecting the right wire size, smaller is larger. Yes, that's right, The smaller the number, the larger the wire size. For instance, a #10 wire is larger than a #12 wire. The #10 wire can carry 30 amps, while the #12 can carry just 20 amps.
