Employment among Electrical Distributors

The Bureau of Labor Statistics break-out for employment by Electrical Distributors (NAICS 42361) — for ALL EMPLOYEES of these companies — shows

- a preliminary 146,800 employed in the industry in December 2012. That was the peak month of 2012, and the highest single month since February 2009

- 145,100 people employed by electrical distributors on average, for 2012. That’s up 3.7% over the full-year number for 2011.

Note that while its counter to one’s expectations that employment for a given year will peak in December, that happened in 2011, too. Generally, the data tell a story of ever-increasing employment in the ED business . . . albeit, a slow increase.
