Government $$$ to Cree, Eaton, Philips & 2 Others

Matching grants totaling $10 million — of your tax dollars — are going to 5 lighting companies, per the US DOE.

Cree and Eaton, at least, are profitable (I don’t know whether Philips Lighting is or is not). It’s mystifying why the government has to put up your $$$ (and mine) to encourage these profitable companies to invest THEIR money.
